The first inner page: Commerorative poem "Hämärä" by a Finnish poet Einari Vuorela (1889-1972), from Keuruu. Vuorela´s doctor h.c. in University of Jyväskylä dates back to 1969.  "Hämärä on / ilmestynyt / ovelleni / ja metsän takaa / kuuluu / sarastuksen / hiljainen / vihellys."

The second inner page: Honoring memory of... and the university torch logo.

The imitative motif is an apple tree branch originated in a variety called Malus prunifolia. It is a pear-leaved crab apple tree “Oppio”, and it is dedicated exclusively to University of Jyväskylä - plus the university torch logo.

“Oppio” apple trees have been growing next to university building called Oppio from the 1930’s. By applying biotechnology the aged apple trees have been multiplied and transformed into vital seedlings.
